Scott,
just saw your email. We're not talking about the same energy frequencies.
The gauss meters I described in my email to Dave do not measure visible
light. In addition to the EMF that the gauss meters measure, I remember
learning that fluorescent light do produce other harmful radiation as
well, similar to the ionizing radiation that CRT screens produce. I bet I
could track down more info on that. I'll see what my electrician comes up
with as well.

Ok, this is just silly. Standard flourescent lights do not put out any
more radiation than visible light. Very, very, little. Sunlight puts out
more. A UVA/UVB light has a slightly higher activity level than sunlight
but still WAY less than say, an x-ray. Is the "radiation" comming off of
a UVA/UVB bulb measurable? Yes, but so is sunlight. The reality is that
there is no significant difference between the amount of radiation comming
from a flourescent UVA/UVB light and sunlight. You might lose something
on the order of 0.5 fish per million for the extra radiation they are
being exposed to. Is this really different than their living in their
natural habitat exposed to sunlight and injesting tritium (H3)? (tritium
is a naturally occuring element) No. Seriously folks, I'd be much more
worried about making sure my hands were chemical free before cleaning my
tank than the radiation comming from flourescent bulbs.

John, I'm curious about the radiation that you measured. What portion of
the
E-M spectrum was it and what was the data ?
dave
I'm sick of fluorescent
bulbs. I measured the radiation they put out, and it is quite high.
