More likely 'sick' from fluorescent bulbs (and I had a fishroom full of them 
at one time) is sick of buzzing, whining, smelly ozone-produce cheap 
ballasts in cheap fixtures. Eventually I upgraded all the shoplites I had to 
electronic-ballast based ones that were higher quality, and the room got 
'nicer.'

Incandescent fixtures have big drawbacks, too, like excessive heat produced 
and limited color range which matters to some plants.
