Heck yeah it's digital, I am too cheap and impatient for film. :)

It is a Nikon 8800, which is sort of a do-it-all camera that goes from 
macro to 10x zoom. It is 8 MP. 

The 8800 is a jack of all trades, master of none, but I still really 
like it. A DSLR with the right lenses will get you better pictures, but 
you are also going to pay a lot more. That said, I am sure I will end up 
getting a DSLR within a year or so too, I like gadgets too much...
