RE: [GSAS-Member] Discus and Angels

The general advice is dont keep angels with discus. The reasoning is that the angels eat more aggressively and the discus will not be able to compete for the food. They tend to eat slowly and pick at the food.

Hey all, I was wondering if discus and angels would play together nicely in a 150G well planted community tank? I know that they come from the same Amazonian waters in the wild and require similar conditions at home, but personality-wise, would they get along? Has anyone tried this? What were your results? I have 4 wild-caught and very hearty adult green discus living together with a plethora of other community fish (cardinal tetras to nanochromis transvestitus) and I wanted to add 4 or so angels to the mix. I have heard different opinions on this (some say it's ok and some don't) but I am really interested if someone in this group has actually done it. Thanks.
