What do you hand feed your discus? I'm sure mine would take to hand feeding just fine because they beg at me everytime I approach the tank. :)-----Scott R. I have 2 tanks that are discus only, and another tank that has angels and discus. I hand feed my discus, and am very careful to make sure they get enough food. The angels are pigs, and would eat everything if allowed. I don't have any aggression problems with them though. Good luck.MonicaFrom: "Scott Frayo" <ronscottf@hotmail.com>Reply-To: Greater Seattle Aquarium Society member chat<gsas-member@thekrib.com>To: gsas-member@thekrib.com Subject: RE: [GSAS-Member] Discus and Angels Date: Mon, 23 Jan 2006 14:28:16 -0800So if food were plentiful, this wouldn't be a problem? Just curious. I feed twice daily, flakes in the afternoon, frozen blood worms in the evening. Change 50% once weekly and nitrates stay low.-----Scott R. The reasoning is that the angels eat more aggressively and the discus will not be able to compete for the food. They tend to eat slowly and pick at the food.PaulFrom: "Scott Frayo" <ronscottf@hotmail.com>Reply-To: Greater Seattle Aquarium Society member chat<gsas-member@thekrib.com>To: gsas-member@thekrib.com Subject: [GSAS-Member] Discus and Angels Date: Mon, 23 Jan 2006 14:07:52 -0800Hey all, I was wondering if discus and angels would play together nicely in a 150G well planted community tank? I know that they come from the same Amazonian waters in the wild and require similar conditions at home, but personality-wise, would they get along? Has anyone tried this? What were your results? I have 4 wild-caught and very hearty adult green discus living together with a plethora of other community fish (cardinal tetras to nanochromis transvestitus) and I wanted to add 4 or so angels to the mix. I have heard different opinions on this (some say it's ok and some don't) but I am really interested if someone in this group has actually done it. Thanks.-----Scott R.
