RE: [GSAS-Member] growth on eye pedicle, tank needed

Hard to diagnose remotely (a picture perhaps might help). It might just be healing from a scrape. If it's acting normally and not scratching at it by rubbing int rocks or whatever, it's probably fine. If the fish starts 'paying attention' to the growth it might be best to isolate it and figure out a treatment. WHen you say the fish was 'near death', what was going on? Texas cichlids can be boisterous and being scraped up isn't unusual for them when fighting with other fish, or rocks, or heaters, or whatever they decide annoys them (fingers, glass walls, lids...)

.
Also, a texas cichlid that I was given, and rescued from sure death, is
healing, but has a growth on the side of the structure that hold his eye.
It is pinkish, and looks a bit like a cocoon, or like what you get when a
wool sweater pills. It measures about 3 mm by 10 mm. Kind of egglike or
ellipsoid in shape. It has grown from about 1.5 mm by 6 mm in about 2
weeks. It does not appear to be affecting his/her vision.
Thank you.
