RE: [GSAS-Member] growth on eye pedicle, tank needed

I don't know about Melafix but my Pimafix bottle says "Warning: This product
contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause caner or birth
defects or other reproductive harm." Mmm!

In smooth-skinned fish, I ve seen very bad reactions (turn over and look
dead until a big water change brought them back) to iodized salt, so I don't
use it or any forms of iodine with my fish.
I've used tea tree oil (in the form of "Melafix.") It acted like a mild
antifungal, but it did make the tank smell nice. Not sure if adding vitamins
directly from the water will help at all, I've never done that, I've mixed
them into food and fed that to the fish. Generally I dislike adding anything
to the water, I'm even unhappy about using dechlorinators but am resigned to
it.
