Re: [GSAS-Member] fish for sale

Sounds like the LFS guy I talked to fed me a line then. :)

*shock* Someone at an LFS not give out good advice?!!! Perhaps not know anything about a fish theyr'e trying to sell you?! Alert the media! Call KIRO Investigative reports! :-)

Heard at a shop in NJ: "People will spend $20 on a fish, but not $3 on a book that would tell them not to keep that fish."

That's what I needed to know, thanks! How quickly will a festivum grow?

Not that fast growing. I had my little colony in a 90, and they maybe got up to 5" across the body after a couple years of more or less good husbandry.

Mind you - I think Severums a great fish, in the right tank. Like a south american driftwood/rock/java fern/java moss tank, which is how my buddy had them. He had some of the biggest sevrums I've seen. They were in either a 90 or 100 gallon tank along with *the* biggest Oscar I've ever seen, 16" long at least if I remember. They had a divider made of that 'egg crate' fluorescent fixture material to keep them from beating up the Oscar. Very amusing.
