Re: [GSAS-Member] Snails!

Hi Matt, I used to have pea puffers in my aquarium at work. They were great fish. They are NOT brackish. They liked soft water, and very clean conditions. They were kind of messy so I did watetrchanges a few times a week. I had 2 in a 8 gallon tank w/ plants. They lived at work for about 8 months, until one day they dissappeared. We think someone stole them. There was no sign of them anywhere. After that I put some danios in there, same thing happened. Very strange. They were great fish though. They were really cute to watch.

Can you summarize pea puffer care? I love puffers but I have not been
willing to set up a brackish tank. I would love to find a puffer that is
happy in fresh water and won't beat up my other fish. Would you agree
with the info on this page?

I always assumed the pea puffers I saw in fish stores were either
brackish, or SHOULD be in brackish water but the store was not caring
for them properly--like Figure 8 puffers.

Many thanks,
Matt
