Re: [GSAS-Member] Snails!

I've used the pea puffers (sometimes found as yellow-green puffers) on many occasions, always in my large community tank. They are freshwater fish and fun as hell to watch. The trick with the puffers is to get several (3 or more) and they will entertain themselves. One or two and they tend to nip fins of other fish. They are amazing at eating snails. On a rare occasion I've even seen them puff when scared by a larger fish. VERY COOL. For weeks afterwards I had to stop my wife from trying to "scare" the puffers so she could see them puff. The are happy at pH 7 and I've feed them bloodworms. Pea puffers are the only ones I can recommend for a community tank. Hope this helps.

Fantastic, thanks. I have a 5g at work with a betta and otos... Maybe I
will take the betta home and put in a pea puffer. One way or another I
am keeping them. :) This will be much cheaper than building a second
saltwater tank to get a puffer fix, heh.
