RE: [GSAS-Member] Snails!

I also kept Carinotetraodon travancoricus. I personally would not keep
puffers with other fish after my experience with them. Not all are highly
aggressive, but all are total pigs. Any fish that I have put in with my
puffers cannot get his own food because the puffers will devour it, leaving
the other fish no chance at all to eat.

I currently keep two Colomesus asellus, which are a much larger freshwater
puffer than the pea puffers. I put a bristlenose in with them for a while
to help with an algae problem but the puffers sucked down his algae pellets
after a giant meal of frozen krill. I think this is the type of fish that
would literally eat itself to death. They're total scavengers. I raise
snails in a separate tank to feed them. Their beaks grow pretty rapidly if
you don't have hard things for them to eat which keep the beaks trimmed.
They're a very interesting fish. They are not really aggressive except when
it comes to food. In fact, they're a bit flighty when I walk past their
tank. These fish are in constant motion. Actually, they're just plain
spastic :P

BTW, if anybody is getting rid of snails I plan to be at the auction and
would gladly accept them as food for my two little piggies. Thanks!

And here are some photos of my fish if you want to take a peek:

Gee Thanks for giving me another fish to put on my want to have list! They
do look very cute - However the tank with the snail problem has a mated pair
of angels which lay eggs regularly - and unfortunately eventually eat them -
although they may just not like the 20 gallon tank and need a bigger tank.
They do care for the eggs for a couple days before the eggs dissapear.
Anyway the only other animals in the tanks (besides snails) are several
ghost??
(algae eating) shrimp - Also lots of plants. The shrimp are about 1 inch
long or better - would the puffer bother them?? Would the angels bother the
puffers? I think probably yes but anyone have them in a community type tank
out there?
