I've successfully kept 3 pea puffers in a planted 10 gal, with no problems 
whatsoever, but that's the smallest tank I've tried (primarily because I 
only own a 150 and a 10).  They are hearty little fish because I know I 
didn't give that tank the care it deserved.  Good luck.  'd be curious to 
know how it works out for you.
