The tramitichromis intermedius that I got at the auction must be feeling
frisky. His color
has intensified, sometimes he digs a hole, and he keeps the other cichlids in
the tank away
from his territory. (He mostly ignores fish that don't look like him.)
I've never owned cichlids before, so I was wondering... how does the fish know
when breeding
season is when he is in an aquarium? Or does it kind of happen randomly? I
googled the topic
but couldn't find much besides one reference to the April rainy season.
Guess I have to shift gears to anabantoid mode for the meeting now...
