There are many great dive computers available now that will track and determine how long and what depths a person can safely stay at. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dive_computer I used to dive in Puget Sound years ago and several times I rented "farmer john" wet suits from the local dive shop and went out for a 2 tank dive in the Sound. I will say at the end of the second dive I was feeling chilled. Although I tend to get cold more easily at times than some people. Most of the dives around here are fairly shallow, typical depths are 25-70 feet. Deeper diving will require a high quality dive light for good visibility of the sights down there. Some of my favorite dive areas are: Titlow beach - south of Tacoma narrows, ~35', http://www.seaotter.com/marine/html/titlow.html Edmonds park - ~30-60', nice facility for diving Fort Casey - 15-30', kelp beds are awesome with lots of life Keystone Ferry jetty - 50', makes a good 2nd dive after Fort Casey Blake Rock - 30-70', incredible amount of fish, need a boat to get there. I have only a few pieces of my equipment left if anyone is interested. I still have a nice sherwood regulator and an older medium size dry suit that needs the seals replaced. Might also have a shot peen weight belt if I can locate it.
