I'd like the gravel gossip too. Thankfully we only lost power for a couple of hours, but I did find out my battery powered air pump died. This is a good idea to keep around for using with a stone during outages. I am exploring a battery backup power supply as generators are too expensive and for the tanks something could be made using a 12Volt car battery. (Not exactly a car battery but a deep cycle battery would be best). -Don Rudee Steev Ward <steevward@yahoo.com> wrote: Dear GSAS Members: How's it going? Are you okay? I have to get the January issue of Northwest Aquaria out pretty quick here because we have a meeting coming up on the 9th of January. That's right around the corner! If you have anything to send in for the newsletter do it now! How did you like the Christmas party in December. You might tell me how you and your fish fared in the power outage (if you had one). What would you do differently next time? I've heard from many people who lost ALL their fish. What helpful hints do you have for people without power? Please send something (to me at steevward-at-yahoo-dot-com) for the first newsletter of the year 2007. Steev P.S.
