FYI, at yesterday's Northwest Killies meeting, we decided once again to host the annual west coast killi show, West Coast Weekend, from April 27-29th at the Silver Cloud Inn near the portland airport. If you've never been to a fish show, or a killi show, it's driving distance from here and well worth it. There will be international speakers, a fish raffle on Saturday and big fish auction on Sunday. In addition, I learned that there will be the annual convention of the American Livebearers Association the preceding weekend, April 20-22 at the Hilton Vancouver, Washington, also easily within driving distance. I plan to attend some of this convention as well -it's extremely unusual for there to be two big fish shows in our area. Details can be found at http://pnwl.fishatlas.org/pnwl-ala.htm Finally, a little further down the line, the annual convention of the American Cichlid Association will take place in July, from Jul 19th to 22d, in Sacramento California. Details can be found at http://www.cichlid.org/ACA2007Convention.html. It's a little far, but within one day's carpool driving distance, and is usually quite the show plus a great opportunity to acquire cichlids, both via private sales and through what is ordinarily the biggest fish auction at a national event each year. So, mark your calendars. It's going to be a good year for fish shows this year on the west coast. _________________________________________________________________ Fixing up the home?
