Re: [GSAS-Member] Thick Glassy Skin

Have you recently changed the food you are feeding your fish?
Do you have children who may be putting something in the tank?

Hi Ya'll,

I'm sure this problem has an elegant solution but I cannot find one
mentioned anywhere online or in books.

I have a thin skin on the top of my aquarium water. It looks like oil
but
when I stir it, it clumps which is weird.

Have I been putting my arm in there too much and gotten oil in my tank
which
is settling on top?

Is it a common build-up of some sort? I do a 50% water change every
week.
What could be building up?

I have already tried laying thin newspaper on it and picking up the
newspaper but it didn't seem to soak any of it up.

Please let me know what may be the cause and how to remove it. I
suspect it
is something really common that I have never come across.

Thanks

Shango
