In reef tanks where fish aggression can be a huge deal, the advice is usually
to re-arrange the tank when you introduce new
livestock. The change in scenery throws the existing, more dominant critter off
this game.
I haven't had a lot of agression problems in my fw tanks but it's worth a try.
