There is some detail about breeding the "Bengal Dario" in the book "Exotic 
Aquarium Fishes" (William  Innes) under the name of Badis badis.  I have 
editions going back to the 30s.  The one that refers to your fish is dated 
1966.  I get them at garage sales but you may be able to buy one at a used 
book store or LFS.
