Others may disagree. If you need the SAE, get it and sell it when it gets too big. I'm sure someone in the club would take him. They are popular fish that don't get unreasonably large. It's not like trying to rehome a pacu! Worst case scenario, when he outgrows the 7 gal tank you can give him back to the LFS. Even if they won't give you anything for him--the most likely scenario in my experience--you'll have gotten your money's worth from the work he did for you.
