Re: [GSAS-Member] Help Needed (Auction)

Hi Paul,

I am not certain that I can make it as I have an earlier business
appointment that I am not sure how long will run. If I do get there
it will be a little late but I will be glad to help cleanup or what
ever needs to be done at that point.
Will any of the LFS (especially our supporters let us post a flyer
about the auction at there store? Just an idea.

Subject: [GSAS-Member] Help Needed (Auction)

Hi Club:

With the Plant/Livestock Auction only a week away the club needs your
help! On the day of the auction we are looking for people that can
help set up, run winnings, and clean up at the end.

More importantly, we need your help recruiting friends and
acquiescences to attend the auction. In the beginning, the plant
auction was formed to be a special event for members in the days that
plants were still rare and or mistreated at retail outlets. While
plants are certainly easier to find now, I was shocked to visit a big
box pet store to find non-aquatics and other easy to ship/hard to grow
plants in the displays (house plants!) So even now, it is possible
that a potential planted tank keeper goes out to buy "aquatic plants"
($$$) expecting a masterpiece only to have the plants fail
(inevitable) and abandon the hobby. It is this individual who most
need the help of the plant auction to see that you really can get
fresh assorted plants at a great price.

Those that are successful in the hobby can give back (ie trade up). I
will be "returning" several 4 year+ anubius that we acquired when I
first joined the club in addition to tank raised crypts and all the
overgrowth on top of my tanks.

So in summary, we need help gently reaching out to those that may not
know GSAS exists and or the quality of plants in the area. We also
need a craigslist black belt as our current adds are perpetually
flagged. If you have another resource (mailing list, forum, news
group) I would be happy to provide text to spread the work.

Enjoy your week!
-Paul
