It looks like you haven't had any replies to this yet. What type of water do they live in in the wild? IIRC, they come from the Amazon basin, and most of the tributaries get a decent amount of flow during the wet season. I've never been there during low-water, but I'd imagine that there's a fair bit of water movement. What's the flow-rate of the filter/size of the tank? Have you tried jamming extra filter floss/fiberfill from the fabric store(make sure to get stuff without any additives or all that jazz, 100% polyester) into the filter to decrease the flow rate, or point the spraybar towards the surface to create a current that goes in a circle, leaving the middle zone of your tank relatively low-flow? If none of those options work, you could always make an alcove of sorts for the angels to rest in when they get tired from the current. I've done something similar to that in my multie tank, they just can't handle the current that the built-in powerhead puts out. Hope this helps.
