Re: [GSAS-Member] ATTN: Erik Olson - Please Relate LuisNavarro'sExcel Treatment Procedure for Algae

Larry,

Thanks Larry for your input, are you currently "algae free" or "drastically
reduced"? If "drastically reduced" algae levels, what type(s) survived? I
understand that BBA is one of the most difficult to eradicate, did you have
hair/thread algae prior to treatment and did the treatment eliminate it? I
put my first treatment (10 ml per 10 gallons; 2 times normal initial
treatment) in this afternoon after a 20% WC.  PH = 6.8; KH=4.0;
CO2=20-30ppm. I am going to dose at 2 times normal daily rate for the next
10 days and check the results. This is a level that was used by an
individual on APC who eliminated his hair algae. This week I am ordering
test kits for Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, Iron and Phosphates (unless I can
find a good "Master Test Kit" that will cover these tests). Once the algae
is cleaned up, I want to be able to monitor conditions to minimize
re-growth.

Roy
