Considering the topic of tonight's presentation, I figured I'd send this out to whoever doesn't/hasn't kept Malawi/Tanganyika cichlids before or spends a lot more on buffers than they'd like. Once again, cichlid-forum comes to the rescue with good reference material. Here's the link http://cichlid-forum.com/articles/buffer_recipe.php I suppose you could alter the recipe if you have plenty of GH in your water but want to raise your KH or viseversa: "For every 5 US Gallons of water, add 1-tablespoon Epsom salt, 1-teaspoon baking soda, and 1- teaspoon marine salt." If anyone needs some marine salt, I have a 5 gallon bucket that's pretty much full. You're welcome to come by and pick some up, or we could meet sometime, I go to school at the UW in the morning, work in LFP in the afternoon and live in MLT. If you have any questions about the needs or dietary requirements of any fish you picked up today, or you want to do some research for good potential tankmates, check out the profiles section of the site, or surf the forum. There's some EXCELLENT information there. :) -Laurel _______________________________________________ GSAS-Member mailing list GSAS-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-member
