Hello Friends, I am happy and surprised that I have seen my first Dario Dario eggs. I'm not sure if I had anything to do with it. They may actually have arrived in spite of me. I haven't learned enough about the process yet to know for sure. Anyway, the pairs arrived on Tuesday from Steve from the Wet Spot. I bought three pair and placed one pair in my general community tank and then the other pair I put in a divided 10 gallon with lots of java moss. The divided pair could see each other through the mesh and were frantic in their trying to get together. One of the males even somehow made it across to the other side. I decided that if they wanted to be together that I might as well remove the divider for awhile until they get acclimated to the new tank and water conditions. That was Thursday. Yesterday, Saturday, one of the females bloated and died very quickly. I moved her male mate to the community tank. On the other end of the tank though, a pair had set up house in a small log and were getting all secretive. This morning I chose to take a look. I moved the log aside and saw a small pile of clear eggs fall. I must admit I am shocked. I am wondering if she came with eggs. I have certainly given them the moss and live food they would want but it just seems too fast. The eggs were unfortunately too small and clear to show up on my camera. If I get fry, they will be visible in about 7 days.
