I can tell you that "Fish Mate" brand fish feeders work pretty 
reliably, I've had mine for years and they haven't let me down yet. I 
would be careful about buying the "Penn Plax" Daily Double brand: it 
seems alittle sensitive. I accidently caused mine to fall off a 
short,1foot tall foot stool and though it didnt crack ( I didnt expect 
it to) it hasnt worked since.
