There seems to be a consensus, and I saw a thread on a plant website
where a Seachem rep confirmed that some plant species, for example,
Vals, Anaarchis and Riccia were sensitive to Excel. I do normal Excel
dosing in my tank and my Jungle Vals do seem to have some melt, although
they have not completely been killed. I think Seachem recommends that
you could dose every other day, and I also read some experiences where
Vals were melted by Excel, but appeared to get "used to it" amd growed
back. One theory is (and I am by no means a plant biologist) that the
affected plants are "simpler" species and thus more sensitive then more
advanced plants to the active ingredient in excel that appears to kill
and inhibit algae.
