I had 2 julidochromis transcriptus in my 29 gallon cube, but the  
bigger of the 2 decided that he wasn't fond of my smaller one.  I  
pulled this little guy out of the tank a couple weeks ago with a  
damaged dorsal fin.  Since then, he's been living in my 10 gallon  
hospital tank, and he's doing swimmingly(hahahaha). I wanted to be  
sure that he was very healthy before passing him on. I don't know the  
geographical variant, but I'll include some links to photos taken of  
him.  He's not fully grown yet, probably 2.5" long.    Minimum tank  
size for this fish should be 20 gallons.  Julies are rock-dwelling  
fish, so be sure your tank has adequate rockwork.

Actually, I don't know if it's a he or a she, I've just been
referring  
to it as a he, and calling him Julie, so it is probably having a  
gender identity crisis.

I'm available after 6:15 in Mountlake Terrace most nights(except  
tuesday and wednesday this week).  I'd love to be able to tear down my  
hospital tank sooner rather than later (wink)
