Well, I often put whiteclouds in my goldfish ponds outside along with the goldfish but we are talking about a much larger space than 20 gallons. I usually give them quite a bit of cover as well, as in floating plants like Pistia. I have noticed that in the one stock tank with the 'submarine' shubunkin (it's about 10"), I'm finding fewer whiteclouds....don't know if they are getting eaten.
