Re: [GSAS-Member] Goldfish compatibility
My experience with goldies has been that they attack anything smaller or slower
than they are. I have a couple of fancies, and they have killed all sorts of
fish that I've tried to put in with them. If it's a single tailed fish, this
will be particularly bad as they're faster than even the double-tailed and will
pick on the slower fish. To solve this problem, you'll need a fish with bony
spikes or armor. Cories or Otos are a good fit, better if she's willing to heat
the tank.
One word of caution though - I have 2 goldfish in a 30 gallon tank. Right now
I'm working very hard to upgrade them because the've become so big that the
filtration I have is having trouble keeping up. Goldies get huge if they're
happy in a tank.
