I tend to be in the same boat. There is really no risk to the ecosystem
putting something like Nymphoides peltata (which I currently covet by
can't import to WA from the out-of-state mailorder sources) in a mini-pond
on my patio under the deck where no waterfowl will ever go (especially
with DOGS). I'm no where near any body of water either (shrug). I
purchased this plant locally about 10 years ago and now can't get it
(grump). It's prettier than the fringed yellow flowers on other Nympoides
spp but maybe I like it better cuz I can't get it (grin).
