like said by other members, rummies are lower to middle water dwellers. 
I think your flakes should be ok as long as you agitate the surface 
with air bubbles or water so the flakes will drop. If you have hungry 
fish above them you, obviously have to feed until the rummies get some. 
water: acidic and soft, is best.
