Re: [GSAS-Member] Fw: polly drums

Well, not to beat a dead horse since I have been off email all weekend,
BUT, I got an email today from Jason Smith (the original contact on the
Craigslist ad) that they do indeed have some left! Thanks Phil for your
initial confirmation, and details...

Sounds like a great deal and pretty safe to use for fish. Jason did respond
that it was industrial strength H2O2, but I agree that sunlight and some
good water dilutions will be more than adequate, and who needs algae in
their tanks anyway.

As for Cliff hauling around 5-gallon buckets - more power and many fishy
kudos to you! Dont you have tanks on a big shelf though? How do you get
water into the higher tanks without spilling most of the water on the floor?
Relatively OK if you have a wipeable surface ; mine are over carpet.
Right now I am standing on a rickety ladder while lifting the 5-gals
overhead to put them on the topmost shelf, then siphoning in the clean
water. I just have fearful visions of a 5-gal self-induced gatorade-style
baptism one of these days... a pump would feel so much safer! The Olson
rig WAS impressive. ;+) But I digress.

Cheers,
Connie

Once the peroxide has been mixed with that amount of water is is diluted so
much I wouldnt think it would matter....

When I was working and we needed say 20 vol peroxide for hair color, and we
only had 40 vol, you can go half water, and half peroxide to get the correct
vol you want. So adding a small amount to a tank I wouldnt think it would
hurt the fish....because of the water volume.
