I had a python once, As it tuns out the sink (toilet) was lower than the tank so I was able to just start a siphon and then turn off the water. Then I figured that I could just start the siphon by moving the air around in the hose and stopped using the aspirator all together. The gravel vac piece was next to go as I keep plants and do not vac. A old bent filter pipe is a good stand in and has the benefit of draining ~ 1/3 of the tank. The shutter was then unnecessary and removed. When I moved the origional hose was too short so I bought and extension at home depot. So I guess the faucet adaptions is all that is left of my python (although the plastic part was replaced with metal). I built my second python to drain onto the grass out of a run of tube and filter pipe...
