Yeah, I agree. I never bothered doing any pretreatments in another container
for freshwater. They always loved a water change and would even go in the
current of freshwater while it was filling up the tank. I added the water
conditioner as it was filling. I supposed it would be nice to have a big
container like that to collect rain water or even keep fish in. If it was
saltwater, yes, you would have to get it all dissolved before you put it in
the tank.

By the way, I suspected my Apistos had gills flukes so I added a lot of salt
to the hospital tank and didn't have the filter going. They were breathing
fast all the time, and now they are doing much better and breathing slower.
I think the salt may have dried out those awful parasites. I hate gill
flukes!

I don't know why you guys don't just use Pythons to change your  
water!?  Sure the water's straight from the tap, but if it's hard, you  
add dissolved buffer in while you fill, if it's not, you're good to  
go!  Plus no buckets ever again!
