Although it's a short list, if you're looking at really common (or some
slightly less common but very showy) aquarium species, the
aquaticplantcentral.com plant finder at:
http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/plantfinder/  (note, I think
you have to make an account and be signed in to get to that link?) is a
decent place to start.  They also have a plant ID forum to figure out
names for random fish store plants...

If you haven't browsed around that forum, it's probably worth checking
out.  There, aquariacentral.com, and plantedtank.net have three of the
most active forums (classifieds!) that I've found online.  APC is smaller
than the other two, but I actually like it the most.
