I've grown two types of parrotfeather. One is larger and is green, the other is smaller and has red stems. I've grown it since around 1988 and never saw anything that looked like a flower. On the other hand, I ordered some Cambomba this year to experiment with and it had flower buds. They never opened that I saw though. When my parrotfeather gets too bulky, I use the excess as mulch in the garden. Can't see why that is a no no (i.e. similar to putting it in my compost heap). It deteriorates pretty quickly. I initially bought the larger form at Moorehaven (2007 was the last year I bought it) and got the red-stemmed form on-line. Betty Goetz > Thanks Cliff.
