Re: [GSAS-Member] Looking forward to get my red cherry shrimp and killer snails tomorrow from Cliff.

I've had a red cherry tank going here at work for 2-3 years now with
reproduction. It's just a 2.5 - 3 gal tank with no heat or filtration.
Fine gravel substrate (~ 1") and a couple lava rocks. Java fern, java
moss, rotala and hornwort cuttings and some Pistia on top. Compact
fluorescent light. A couple teeny crypt bits from another tank. I rarely
see babies right now since the front algae bloom subsided. I'm seeing
fewer small shrimp over the past year as well so not sure what it up
there. I feed flake regularly and Crab Cuisine a couple times per week. I
do water changes when mulm accumulates and becomes noticable...probably at
least once per month. I just did a dip stick test strip: pH on the low
side (~ 6.4), KH ~ 80, GH ~ 50, no nitrites, nitrates 0-20. I usually drop
a bit of cuttlebone in there but I see it's disappeared. Time for more
cuttlebone. There are probably 40-50 shrimp in there. I've moved shrimp
regularly from this tank to other tanks to keep the population under
control.
