I fiddle with the filter media when I retain the BioWheel tray in an
Eclipse tank. I almost always just use a big dense foam sponge meant for
Hagen AquaClear powerfilters. Nothing else unless I'm using ChemiPure
(rarely). That doesn't seem to affect noise level.
