Hi All,

I was lurking on Craigslist this morning and came across the following post
this morning.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/wan/980586325.html

The name of the poster is Dave Boyd and he lives in the Lake Stevens area.
He is going to try to attend our meeting next week but would like get some
Hygrophila 'Rosanervis' or 'Sunset' sooner if possible. If any of our
members has some available please contact Dave directly at
boyd_dave@hotmail.com and work out the details directly with him.

Plant people are everywhere!

Roy

Hi Dave,

With your permission, I will post you're the e-mail on our GSAS member forum
and ask that members get in touch with you directly via your hotmail
account. That way I don't have to act as the "middle man", and slow down
the process. If nobody get back with you let me know. I have a few stems
of H. 'Rosanervis' that I planted a couple of weeks ago and may be able to
trim up a couple of the stems to bring to the meeting next week. Look
forward to seeing you at the meeting. I am attaching a copy of the GSAS
newsletter (in .PDF format) for you to check out. Let me know how things
turn out.

Roy

wow that is great news! i thought i was out of luck. I understand the
reason for the ban, but i sure loved how that plant ate up the nutrients
before algae could grow. I didnt know about gsas but i would like to join.
i am going to attend the january 13th meeting. in the mean time, if you
think of it i would love to buy some from someone locally before then, and
if you have any contacts that would be great.

I got one other response from CL but the guy is in sumner which is pretty
far away (and i think its technically illegal to ship it. is that right?).
I would prefer to get some near-by. :)

thanks alot Roy! let me know,

-Dave

Hi Dave,

Looks like Hygrophila 'Rosanervis' with the reddish newer leaves and lighter
veins. Several of us at the Greater Seattle Aquarium Society (GSAS) are
growing it. If you don't get any responses from your CL ad let me know and
I will try to track some down for you. I just trimmed mine a couple of
weeks ago so it will be about a month before I have some but I live in
Renton and I'm sure there is a member that is growing it that lives closer
to you. You might want to visit a GSAS meeting as a guest, the January
meeting is 1/13/09. The February meeting is 2/10/09 and it is our big
annual plant auction. Our January speaker is a well known aquatic plantsman
from the Washington D.C. area. There is always a "mini auction" at the end
of the regular meetings with plants and fish at good prices. If you were
sure to be there, I would put out the word that and request our members to
try to bring some. Here is a link to the GSAS website:
