My outside live food cultures and mini-ponds have finally thawed and so
far I've lost a couple large goldfish and several young-of-the-year. One
mini-pond had 3 old goldfish I've had for years....the all white one died
but the all orange and the sarasa lived. I'm moving them inside. I lost
one shubunkin (from the neighbor pond rescue with Meredith) and a bunch of
young-of-the-year from the same pond. These were small above-ground
ponds....under 50 gallons. So far the big 100 and 150g stock tanks seem ok
(knock on wood)...although the fish are deep down and I can't see them
yet. I lost a couple whiteclouds that I couldn't catch before the freeze
but I got most of them inside. All my marginal plants and tender floaters
are inside the garage....I hate it when it gets THAT cold!
