[GSAS-Member] Broad Leaf Water Sprite - Ceratopteris cornuta

Broad Leaf Water Sprite - Ceratopteris cornuta

Hello Community! I was cleaning the tank today and noticed that my
floating water sprite is getting a bit out of control. For those of you
that donât know water sprite is a fast grower and great at soaking up
excess nutrients (i.e. ammonia, nitrates, nitrites). This of course
stunts algae growth and promotes fish health. It a great plant for
beginners as it is very hardy and easy to care for.

I currently keep it in a tank that fluctuates between 78-80 degrees.
This tank does not use any co2 and has a low WPG (maybe 1.5-2). I do
keep the lights on 10 hrs a day and the tank is stocked lightly with
some tetras. In these conditions it grows like a weed! Being a
floating plant it does best in a low to medium current tanks. Although
I know this plant can also be planted, but I have not tried it as I
prefer the shade and sense of protection it provides as a floating
plant.

Currently I have about one cup of these plants. I imagine there are
35-50 small plants in a cup. These come from a snail free tank and are
not to be confused with regular water sprite or Ceratopteris
thalictroides.

Regardless, I wanted to offer the local community first dibs on it. I
would like to sell this or trade it to someone. I would like to get $10
for it.

Marshall
