Re: [GSAS-Member] Blue-Green Algae



Doran,
In some cases, people have exhausted pretty much every option other  
than tearing the tank apart and running an antibiotic through.  In  
most cases, providing the tank isn't vastly overstocked, the  
nitrifying bacteria bed doesn't sustain much damage if any.  Also, I'm  
sure many of the members have multiple tanks.  Wiping out the entire  
bacterial bed is not an issue as it can easily and quickly be seeded  
with filter media from another tank.  I have successfully used broad  
spectrum antibiotics on a tank with no harmful side affects.
