It is NOT just you Matt; I have the same problem. Small container, big container, doesnt seem to matter with me. I have always dumped them into a well-planted *thing*, either container or actual tank, and they do slowly die off for me too, even when in a container all by themselves. I am suspicious my problem is a lack of O2 in the water; the containers I have tried so far have not had any aeration/filtration in them. I always worry about feeding them too much too... from what I have read in this thread though I may have not been feeding them enough.
