Hi Heather, I personally loathe my MTS. They breed like crazy and get into everything. Also, I cannot control them with another species because nothing else eats them due to their especially hard shells. I do know that the are good for the substrate because they burrow which keeps the substrate loose and the also eat detris. Personally this is FAR outweighed by their appearance. If you want smaller critters maybe try a snail that does not reproduce in fresh water like nerite snails or assassin snails. Both are more expensive than MTS though. Heck, if you decide you want MTS, don't pay for them. I will give all you can handle for free. =) Cheers, Shango On 4/22/09 1:17 PM, "Peake, Heather" <hpeake@fhcrc.org> wrote: > Does anyone have experience with these?
