Hey Shango, I usually just pop the brine shrimp cubes on the top of the aquarium and the shrimp slowly and sparsely float toward the bottom giving all of the fish time to get some. When I've done that with the blood worms they will fairly rapidly sink to the bottom without a substantial number of worms unraveling for every one to get a bit. When that happens a Pictus will grab the whole chunk, swim around in a frenetic exercise of "keep away," denying opportunity for treats to the other fish. He gobbles the whole (mostly) freezing chunk (That's how he got named "Redbeard"). Pretty funny but not really efficient. I wonder if Pictus get brain freezes... Nowadays, I pop the frozen bloodworm cube into the aquarium, let it thaw a bit, then catch it with long forceps before it falls to the bottom, and wave it through the water so that the worms are dispersed throughout. No water foulage. I used to just toss the cubes in frozen. I then began thawing out the cube first in some hot water and then poured that in the tank. However, I now suspect that doing it that way is funking my water. This weekend I began thawing the cube in water and then pouring the food through a net and then introducing the strained food. That way seems to waste a lot but only got the food in the tank, not any sort of binding agent. So tell me, how do you feed with frozen bloodworms and Mysis shrimp?
