Mine did a decent job of knocking out ramshorn snails, but didn't seem to
take on the larger MTS.  My group never bred, and I'm down to just a few
left.

While the assassins are kind of cool, I think you'd have better control
results using a small trap baited with cucumber or using a net just before
your lights come on to removing them from the sides of the tank.

You might search through the archives as well, I know this has come up a
few times.  For biological control, a dwarf puffer fish will hunt the
snails at a much more aggressive rate than the A. helena, but they're fin
nippers, so best kept alone.  There are several kinds of loaches and
labyrinth fish that also tend to hunt snails.
