Mine did a decent job of knocking out ramshorn snails, but didn't seem to take on the larger MTS. My group never bred, and I'm down to just a few left. While the assassins are kind of cool, I think you'd have better control results using a small trap baited with cucumber or using a net just before your lights come on to removing them from the sides of the tank. For biological control, a dwarf puffer fish will hunt the snails at a much more aggressive rate than the A. helena, but they're fin nippers, so best kept alone. There are several kinds of loaches and labyrinth fish that also tend to hunt snails. Cliff > I was thinking of getting a few of these to combat a couple of aggressive > rams horn populations.
