Jesse: May I recommend "red belly pacu" as sold in Canada or your favorite species of bass? (Big eaters, but endless fun to tie a worm to a string and "fish") You could also spend some time at monsterfishkeepers.com. -Paul -----Original Message----- From: gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com [mailto:gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com] On Behalf Of Doerr, Jesse Sent: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 10:54 AM To: Greater Seattle Aquarium Society member chat Subject: [GSAS-Member] Big Tank Suggestions Good morning, I'm looking for some suggestions on what I could stock my new tank with. It's a 6 ft 250 Gal tank with a 50 Gal sump. Currently, it's empty and needs some more final work to get the plumbing and stand finished, but it's looking good for this winter. I've been tossing back and forth whether I would prefer a few big fish or a lot of small/medium sized fish. I've decided that I'd prefer to keep some larger stock in this one. So, what I'm hoping for is some suggestions of larger size fish that would make an interesting display. I'm picturing something in the 8" - 16" range and hopefully with some schooling behavior. Shapes and colors would be nice too. I'm not really looking to breed anything, just display. It would be best if they can survive on their own for a few days at a time without maintenance too. Thanks for your input!
