Tinfoil barbs are very agressive in my past experience.  They could out compete 
any of my African cichlids and were great at tearing apart weaker fish.  They 
do grow incredibly fast as well.

How about Tenfoil barbs, there are a couple of different species to 
choose from and they are shoaling, active and community oriented.
