Re: [GSAS-Member] metal tank stands
I had some commercial racks i used for my tanks. Here's a pic of three 6ft
long tanks (110, 110, 100 gallon sizes) stacked on top of each other I had in
my fishroom in the basement back in Michigan..each shelf holds 1500lbs.

Hi Ken,
I have used metal tank stands for years, the welded angle iron type, without
any problems. I currently have a 45 tall (about 450 pounds) above a 30
gallon (330 pounds) sitting on the basement floor. You do have to watch out
for "floor loading" if putting any large aquarium or "stacked" aquariums on
wooden floors. The metal stands that seem to have problems are typically
the "bolt together" or "knocked down" type that comes in boxes and you put
together.
