I am from Michigan and have fished from the great lakes, it is illegal to take 
possesion of lampreys.  They must be destroyed.  There was a few salmon I have 
caught had a lamprey on it, it was about 2ft long.

I doubt a lamprey would survive in a tank, they probably need some fish to feed 
on, and dead fishes could foul up your water fast.

I knew someone that tried keeping a sea lamprey that came off a salmon  
in Lake Huron.  Not sure how that turned out.
